Medicare Part A

This plan covers inpatient hospital stays for qualified recipients. This covers the stays themselves, not the services applied to the visit. The plan also deals with costs associated with staying at approved nursing facilities, hospice stays, as well as some limited costs associated with healthcare visits to the patient’s home.

Medicare Part B

This part of the Medicare plan deals with the incidentals associated with a hospital visit unrelated to a stay. Those covered under Plan B Medicare have an insurance policy that covers specific services performed by a doctor, as well as any outpatient care. Plan B also covers medical supplies used during a medical visit, and services applied to preventative treatments. For questions you may have concerning a specific treatment, be sure to contact the Medicare phone number at 1-800-MEDICARE.

Medicare Part C

The Medicare Part C plan is not actually a federally managed insurance plan but in fact a rider attached through a private insurance company that works with Medicare to provide a holder with all of the Part A and Part B benefits. This is also known as a Medicare Advantage plan. There are a few distinct plans within the Medicare Advantage plan including Medicare Savings Account plans, Preferred Provider Organizations, Health Maintenance Organizations, Private Fee for Service plan, and Special Needs plans. The concept for this Medicare plan is a whole package, and if covered under the Advantage, your benefits associated with Parts A and B covered this way. Patents often also have access to prescriptions plans.

Medicare Part D

This part of Medicare brings an additional coverage of prescription plans to Part A and B recipients, as well as enhancing some cost plans associate with Medicare and select elements associated with Medicare Part C options.
